Assistant Director of Planning and Transport Strategy
Welcome from Paul Chadwick, Director of Environment and Community Services
Thank you for expressing an interest in becoming the new Assistant Director with responsibility for Planning and Transport Strategy at Richmond and Wandsworth. This is the opportunity to shape the landscape in a positive way for half a million Londoners and thousands of businesses.
As the most senior planning professional for both Authorities, you’ll lead a combined team that’s committed to the development of place shaping policies that suit our two Councils’ aspirations and committed to playing their part in turning those ambitions into reality on the ground.
You’ll take a leading role on a range of hugely significant projects including the Battersea and Nine Elms regeneration area, the Stag Brewery Site at Mortlake, the replacement of Wandsworth’s One Way system, the Twickenham Riverside scheme, the Northern Line Extension, Crossrail 2 and the Thames Tideway Tunnel.
This is a rare opportunity to work flexibly across two London Boroughs through our Shared Staffing Arrangement (SSA). Within which you’ll have a senior leadership role in the Environment and Community Services Directorate with high expectations that you will contribute skillfully to the continuous improvement of what we do and how we do it both within that Directorate and in support of the Corporate whole.
